Our Story
Built by a family who joined their HOA and couldn't believe the software.

The Roddy family — Warrenton, Virginia
A few years ago, I joined my neighborhood HOA board. I figured it would be straightforward — help keep the community looking great, handle a few violations, maybe improve the newsletter.
What I found was a mess of spreadsheets, a confusing $300/month software subscription that nobody on the board actually understood, and a lot of frustrated neighbors. The platforms that existed were built for large property management companies with full-time staff — not for volunteer board members with day jobs and families.
I've been building software companies for 20 years. I know what it looks like when a tool is built for the wrong person. So I built the one I actually needed.
HoatzinHome is HOA management software designed for communities that manage themselves — boards of neighbors who care about where they live, not enterprise property managers charging $20 a unit. Simple violation tracking. Clean member management. Real communication tools. Everything a self-managed board needs, nothing it doesn't.
Family owned. Actually.
Today, the entire business is run by our family. My wife and I handle everything from product development to customer support, with our three kids somewhere in the background making noise. When you email hello@hoatzinhome.com, you're talking to us — not a support ticket queue.
That's not a marketing line. It's just the truth about where we are right now, and we think it matters. We have a personal stake in building software that actually works, because we use it ourselves.
